The project belongs to a famous mining group in Brazil. The pellet mines and associated ports in Victoria occupy an 8 sq km peninsula on Brazil's east coast. The pellet mines include many types of iron ore yards and a large coal yard. The average annual wind speed is 10 knots or 17.6 km/h, which cause severe fugitive dust emission. In 2010, a Wind Fence with an overall length of 9000 meters was built to control the dust generated by the 6 storage yards and the dust was controlled effectively. The dust removal rate reached to 95 per cent and the environment of the tourist zone which is only 2.3 nautical miles away from the storage yards wouldn’t be affected.
